TAG Heuer hosts Grand Prix Event with Formula 1 Champion Jenson Button

Last night TAG Heuer hosted its highly anticipated Grand Prix Event at the Melbourne Flagship boutique with a special guest appearance by TAG Heuer Ambassador and Formula 1 champion, Jenson Button.

A stellar line up of Australian identities and VIPs attended the high profile cocktail event, including Brian McFadden and fiancé Vogue Williams, Miss Universe winner and TV personality Rachael Finch, model and personality Erika Heynatz, actor Jai Courtney, and ambassador of the 2012 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix Kate Peck.  High profile sporting identities included Olympic gold medallists Lydia Lassila and Malcolm Paige, AFL footballers Scott Pendlebury (and partner Alix Davis), Sharrod Wellingham and Chris Dawes, and Rugby Union players Nick Phipps and Hugh Pyle.

Button arrived in true Formula 1 glamour with TAG Heuer Grid girls presenting a guard of honour to welcome the champion driver.  In his role as MC, network Seven’s Mark Beretta officially welcomed a relaxed and charming Button to the TAG Heuer Flagship boutique before inviting him to unveil the latest timepiece from the leading Swiss watch brand, the new TAG Heuer Formula 1 chronograph.

Much to his delight Jenson was treated to true Melbourne flavour as Collingwood superstar & vice captain, Scott Pendlebury presented him with a signed AFL football.  Ever the English gentleman Button reciprocated with a TAG Heuer cap signed by himself and fellow team-mate, Lewis Hamilton.

TAG Heuer’s General Manager, Philip Richards, hosted the event.  “The evening was a great success” said Richards.  "TAG Heuer has a longstanding relationship with Formula 1 & McLaren and having a champion driver & TAG Heuer Ambassador appear at our Flagship boutique allows us to celebrate our motor-racing DNA in true Formula 1 style.”

TAG Heuer has recently marked its 25th year of partnership with McLaren.  It is one of the most successful collaborations in sports, during which the team has achieved six FIA World Constructors’ Championship titles and nine FIA World Drivers’ Championship titles.
